FOLIO Project Update – Week of March 16, 2020

The FOLIO Product Council spent most of its March 19 meeting discussing the impact of the COVID-19 / Coronavirus on the FOLIO Project. While many SMEs are spending time helping their organizations shift to remote work, the group anticipates that developers and POs will be able to maintain expected commitment to the project. Impact on Fameflower release should be minimal. Please see the team’s communication at the following post: FOLIO Product Council Statement on the COVID-19 / Coronavirus Pandemic.

In addition, the PC formally charged the App Interaction SIG to review workflows and data flows between FOLIO apps to clarify relationships and agree on future development steps. Cate Boerema also provided an update of PO activities.

The Metadata Management SIG met and talked about some concerns with the location facet in Inventory, especially for consortia. The SIG will be gathering use cases and including RA in this discussion going forward.

The Reporting SIG met and discussed report prototype and query development updates from the RA/UM Reports and RM/ERM Reports small groups.

The recording from the March 18, 2020, forum on the Open Library Foundation from the Forum Facilitators SIG is available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/8Ah_vcfGMck.
